In the early 1990s, a group of artists came together to transform a piece of Seattle’s industrial past into a thriving creative enclave. They set their sights on this 1916 truck repair warehouse. They remodeled it right. Big infrastructure overhaul, power, sprinklers, elevator, and retrofitting. Today, the Union Art Cooperative (UAC) remains a vital part of Seattle’s artistic landscape, offering a rare balance of history, craftsmanship, and community.

UAC's purpose is to provide live/work studio space for artists, and to create a community that fosters and promotes creativity The owners of each unit must include one person who is an artist.
